Equivalent Fractions

Mente is working on a problem where he must share 12 "carrots" between three friends. He is dividing the 12 into thirds.

Noureen and Abdulla are working with a set of six carrots. They had to divide the carrots in half. On their white board they each noted that 1/2 of the carrots was the same as 3/6 of the carrots.
